Our lab is a part of the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. We develop and apply machine learning-based computational methods for building predictive and network models of complex biological processes and diseases. Using such approaches, we have gained useful insights into a variety of diseases like asthma, diabetes, cancer and COVID-19, as well as basic biology problems such as protein function prediction, and inference of large-scale interactions among biomolecules. We also have a standing interest in the development of novel data mining and machine learning methods and preparing their implementations for high-performance computing platforms.
